Corinne Warnshuis grew up in Salinas, California.  In 2011, she moved to Philadelphia after graduating from University of California РSanta Cruz, where she earned a BA in Sociology and Film & Digital Media.

Corinne is the Executive Director of Girl Develop It, a nonprofit that provides affordable and accessible opportunities for women to learn web and software development through hands-on instruction. For two years prior to becoming the first ED of Girl Develop It, she co-lead the organization’s Philadelphia chapter to become one of the largest and most active.

Previously she worked with the news network producing large-scale conferences like Philly Tech Week and Baltimore Innovation Week. In that role, Corinne focused on connecting and growing relationships within the respective local tech communities of Philadelphia, Baltimore and Brooklyn, specifically promoting diversity through events like the Diversity/In Tech conference in Brooklyn and the Women/In Tech conference in Baltimore.

For two years, she worked in the newsroom and in community relations at WHYY, Philadelphia’s NPR and PBS affiliate.¬†Corinne has also written freelance for various publications. Corinne is active on the Board of Directors for the Prometheus Radio Project.

In her spare time, she loves hanging with her best friend and partner, Michael, as well as biking, hiking, playing with her cats and watching documentaries.
